What is the best inflatable hot tub for the home garden in 2026—and why?
In our opinion, the best overall inflatable hot tub for 2026 is the MSpa Urban Aurora because it strikes the perfect balance between entry-level and luxury hot tubs in terms of features, specifications, and price.
However, based on our experience as a long-standing hot tub comparison site, we must also point out:
There isn’t just one “best” inflatable hot tub; it depends on the consumer’s needs and preferences.
Depending on whether you’re more interested in an affordable and minimalist hot tub or a more luxurious one, different models may be worth considering. Size, shape, and energy costs also play a role in the decision.

Good and Affordable: The MSpa Urban Aurora Inflatable Hot Tub
What is the best inflatable hot tub of 2026? In our opinion, it’s most likely the MSpa Urban Aurora.
There’s one thing I want to make clear: We’ve chosen the “MSpa Urban Aurora” as the best overall inflatable hot tub of 2026 (if one wants to classify a model that way at all, since—as we’ve said—the best hot tub for a consumer depends heavily on their specific needs), because we believe it can be a good choice for most consumers in terms of value for money.
That doesn’t mean we consider this hot tub to be the absolute best—we don’t. For that, we’d recommend one of the models from the “luxury inflatable hot tub” segment (see below), which features both air and water jets.
But not everyone wants to shell out 1,500 euros for an inflatable outdoor hot tub, so for the “best overall inflatable hot tub of 2026” category, we’ve chosen a model that’s both good and affordable—and that’s the “MSpa Urban Aurora.”
Our evaluation of individual criteria:
Advantages:
- LED string lights as a unique selling point
- Offers plenty of space for up to 6 people
- The pump is hidden inside and runs quietly
- Set up in 5 minutes with the push of a button
- TÜV-certified

- Good value for the price
Disadvantages:
- It has air jets, but no water jets

Budget Hot Tub: MSpa Comfort Bergen
What’s the best affordable inflatable hot tub in 2026? In our opinion, it’s the MSpa Comfort Bergen.
The MSpa Comfort Bergen is a solid entry-level hot tub that you can get at a great price. We’d estimate the investment at between 350 and 500 euros, depending on whether there’s a sale going on.
That’s a really good price for an inflatable hot tub that’s durable, high-quality, and TÜV-certified. Of course, in this price range, you shouldn’t expect any fancy extra features (like LEDs) or additional water jets.
However, the MSpa Comfort Bergen has all the essential basic features and comes from a well-known manufacturer—which is important to know, because nobody wants to buy junk.
Our evaluation of individual criteria:
Advantages:
- One of the most affordable inflatable hot tubs available
- Available in versions for up to 4 or up to 6 people
- The pump is hidden inside and runs quietly
- Quick Setup
- TÜV-certified
- Suited for winter
Disadvantages:

The LAY-Z-SPA Miami by Bestway is also a very affordable entry-level hot tub priced well under 500€.
The MSpa Tekapo by Brast is also a great deal among inflatable hot tubs, as we discovered in our comparison. However, the Tekapo is a square hot tub, not a round one.

Lower Operating Costs: The LAY-Z-SPA Zurich
What is the best energy-efficient inflatable hot tub in 2026? For us, it’s the LAY-Z-SPA Zurich.
The purchase price of an inflatable hot tub is one thing; maintenance is another. That’s because even during regular use, the hot tub incurs some costs—on the one hand, for water treatment products (regular cleaning and disinfection are important), and on the other hand, for the electricity used by the heater, pump, and filter.
In the summer, this isn’t much of an issue, but if you’d like to use your outdoor hot tub in the fall or winter as well, you’ll naturally have to use the heater to warm the water—which is cold at that time of year—to just under 40 degrees, which consumes a lot of electricity. This can easily result in electricity costs of several euros per day.
Our evaluation of individual criteria:
Advantages:
- A Particularly Energy-Efficient Hot Tub
- 120 Airjet massage jets
- Attractive appearance
- Quick Setup
- TÜV-certified
- Suited for winter
Disadvantages:
- It has air jets, but no water jets
- Doesn't have any additional features, such as LED lighting or app control
Because the LAY-Z-SPA Zurich, thanks to its special “EnergySense cover,” uses less electricity and retains heat more efficiently than many other models (according to the manufacturer, by up to 40% at peak usage). Electricity costs, along with the expenses for hot tub water treatment, are part of the ongoing maintenance costs of a hot tub. Learn more about hot tub electricity consumption here.

Massage Effects Thanks to Air and Water Jets: MSpa Frame Oslo & MSpa Muse Carlton
Which is the best luxury inflatable hot tub in 2026? For us, it was the MSpa Muse Carlton from Miweba, and it’s the MSpa Frame Oslo—also from Miweba.
Now let’s move on to the most expensive—but also the highest-quality—inflatable hot tubs. Because there’s one thing you should know: The air jets (“airjets”) built into all models create that lovely bubbling effect everyone is familiar with.
But it’s only when a hot tub also has integrated water jets (“hydrojets”—that is, warm water pumped out of the jets)—that the much-desired massage effect on your back, neck, or legs really kicks in. Everything else is more or less just a gimmick.
In other words: If you don’t just want to cool off in the refreshing hot tub water during the summer, but actually want to use the massage jets to relieve tension in your back or neck while soaking in the hot tub, you should opt for a model that has both air and water jets.
Our evaluation of individual criteria:
Advantages:
- Great massage effects thanks to 138 air jets and 6 hydrojet nozzles
- Relieves tension in the back and neck
- Relaxes the back. One of the quietest whirlpools (maximum 70 decibels). Neck
- Quick Setup

Disadvantages:
- With a purchase price of over €1,000, it's not cheap
- Dimensions: 204 x 204 x 70.0 cm
- Round shape
- Maximum capacity: 6 people
- 1,500-watt
- heater Heats at a rate of 1.5 to 2° C per hour

- 6 hydrojet nozzles
- 3 settings for the massage jets
- Quick to set up at the push of a button—no prior experience required

As another option in the luxury segment of inflatable hot tubs, we recommend the LAY-Z-SPA Hawaii HydroJetPro.

How We Tested
How We Test and Compare Inflatable Hot Tubs
Instead of compiling a list of the 10 or 20 best inflatable hot tubs for 2026, I’ve decided to sort and rank them by category.
That way, I believe you, the reader, will have a much better chance of finding the hot tub that’s right for you personally and making a purchase after reading this article—without feeling unsure whether it’s really the right fit or whether you’ve gotten a good enough overview.

I’m confident that this “holistic” approach is the right way to go when it comes to finding an inflatable outdoor hot tub that’s the perfect choice for you.
As I mentioned earlier, not every hot tub is right for everyone. So I’m going to highlight a handful of the best hot tubs based on the test criteria above, in the hope that this will help you make your decision.
I’ll focus only on the key aspects and also point out any negatives that stand out to me when comparing the hot tubs.
Why is it so hard to choose a hot tub?
So why is it often so hard to decide on a model?
Because there are countless articles online featuring so-called “best-of” lists, mostly from well-known major publishing houses.
The first problem with this is as follows: For one thing, the “best-of” lists on these major websites are rarely based on truly in-depth research.
How could they be, when the author responsible for writing this article was perhaps given just a handful of hours by the publisher and knew absolutely nothing about the topic beforehand?
And what if he or she is already writing so-called “reviews” on a completely different topic the very next day—be it the best smartwatches, robotic lawn mowers, or something else entirely?
The Problem with Most “Best Of” Lists for Inflatable Hot Tubs
Even if inflatable hot tubs are merely a specific subcategory of hot tubs, the product selection is far too vast to fully explore in a short amount of time.
I founded this comparison site for inflatable hot tubs in 2015—nine years ago—and have since analyzed and compared over 50 different models. And every year, about a dozen new models with minor changes are added.
If even I—who, after years of studying this topic, would call myself an expert—have trouble keeping track of everything, how is a journalist with no prior knowledge supposed to write a helpful article in five hours that will help you decide between one model or another?
The fact that these articles from major publishers still appear at the top of search engine results when you search for “inflatable hot tub review” also has to do with the fact that Google, unfortunately, isn’t yet as smart as one might think—or as the search engine itself would likely like to be—when it comes to evaluating search results.
Finding the best inflatable hot tub depends on personal preferences
The second problem with lists of the best inflatable hot tubs is that not every model is actually a good fit for every consumer. What might be the perfect hot tub for one person might only be a halfway decent fit for someone else.
After all, not every customer has the same needs: One person might be looking for a mini hot tub because they only have a small corner of the yard available for it, while another might be looking for a large hot tub for 6 people so the whole family has enough legroom in the bubbling bath.
And yet another customer may prioritize getting the product as affordably as possible, while a fourth customer pays special attention to having plenty of massage jets, and so on.
As you can see:
What seems like the perfect inflatable hot tub for one person might be a completely different model for the next.
So, at the beginning of 2026, I sat down once again with my small team at whirlpool-aufblasbar24.de to reflect on this, and we completely revamped our approach.
(Of course, it’s completely impossible for us to order 50 different hot tub models, inflate them one by one, fill them with water, and personally test them over the course of months.
What we’re very good at, however—and have been for nearly ten years—is keeping an eye on the hot tub market, new releases, and trends, analyzing the technical specifications of new models, and comparing and categorizing them based on our previous findings.
Air & Water Jets
One of the most important features of a hot tub is, of course, the massage jets. All inflatable hot tubs are equipped with numerous air jets. Warm air flows from these jets, creating the popular classic “bubbling effect” in the hot tub.
However, the water jets are more effective for massaging the neck or back. With this technology, warm water flows from jets built into the hot tub’s walls or floor. This creates pleasant massage effects on the body that can help you relax.
How many air jets are built into the 8 top-rated hot tubs?
(Air jets create the "bubbling" effect in the hot tub) | Grafik von whirlpool-aufblasbar24.de
No Data Found
However, the second chart is even more important and interesting. It shows that only two of the eight inflatable hot tubs tested have additional water jets in addition to the air jets:
The MSpa Frame Oslo (8 hydrojets) and the LAY-Z-SPA San Francisco (10 hydrojets) are the only two of the eight models to feature both air and water jets. Both models can also be classified as luxury inflatable hot tubs and, accordingly, cost well over €1,000 (around €1,500).

Noise Level of Inflatable Hot Tubs in Decibels
“How loud or quiet are these inflatable hot tubs, really?” Maybe you’ve asked yourself this question before. It’s often not just about the pump and massage jets being pleasantly quiet for you—it’s also about not unnecessarily disturbing your neighbors with noise.

Don’t forget: Hot tub maintenance
To ensure you can use and enjoy your new inflatable outdoor hot tub for as many years as possible, you should take good care of it. Read our overview article on hot tub water maintenance.
Don’t forget: Hot tub accessories
To protect the surface where your future hot tub will be placed in the garden or on the patio, I recommend using hot tub mats and laying them out before setup.
